Virtual IT Dept Ltd was set up by Oliver Lissimore in 2007.  Based in Worcester, the idea for the company is to address problems of IT Support and IT Solutions provision for small to medium size companies; who generally either weren’t being well served by managing their own IT, or were paying a premium for 3rd party IT Support.

Virtual IT Dept Ltd addresses these issues by providing full IT Support for a price based on the size of a company’s infrastructure.  Resources are made available based on a calculation of service requirement for the individual size of company and not as a ‘one-size-fits-all’ bolt-on.

Oliver Lissimore’s corporate IT Support experience ranges from work within the NHS, Computa Center, and a number of high-profile Law Firms including Eversheds.  Though it was whilst working as a Business System Engineer at the NEC that Oliver started to deal with smaller business units and more specialised IT Solutions.  A number of specialist departments required solutions that, unlike the rest of the corporate infrastructure, could not be provided for with ‘off-the-shelf’ solutions.  This presented new and refreshing challenges which helped Oliver hone his ability to think outside the box, and determine and implement IT Solutions to a whole range of unusual business driven technical and procedural requirements.

Virtual IT Dept Ltd is committed to the installation of supportable IT Solutions, ensuring that they are implemented following ITIL best practise procedures including Change Control and Release Management.  In this way we can ensure that the Business Impact of any Change or failure is kept to an absolute minimum; and we have strict SLAs for our IT Support service, which further ensures that failure or interruption of IT service does not compromise the products or services that you offer to your customers.
